Franco Baresi is widely regarded as one of the best defenders ever in the game. He himself, however, finds Diego Maradona as a player to watch out for.
MARCA had the opportunity to sit down with the 60-year-old to chat.
”I’ve had so many incredible teammates that I couldn’t choose one. But if I had to choose the strongest opponent, I’d say Maradona,” the Italian said in praise the Argentinian legend.
During his glorious career with AC Milan and Italy, the Italian won everyone he could have won in the game.
”I knew I was talented, but I knew that if I really wanted to be the best then I’d have to work hard and be consistent. I guess these are the things that made me who I was,” he said about himself.
