Aurelien Tchouameni currently plays for AS Monaco as a defensive midfielder. The Frenchman has made 74 appearances for the club in his time at the Stade Louis II. Tchouameni, furthermore, has won eight caps already for the French national team.
It was long speculated that Ligue 1 giants, PSG would snatch the midfielder. However, according to recent reports by RMC Sport we understand, the former Bordeaux man has set his sights abroad: “Aurelien Tchouameni has discarded a move to PSG and instead agreed personal terms with both Liverpool and Real Madrid.”
However in a turn around of events, Liverpool Echo has reported: “Sources close to Liverpool FC have been informed by Excellence Sports Nation, the agency representing Tchouameni, that the player’s intention is to join Real Madrid.”
The Daily Mirror have confirmed this through their report which stated: “The Liverpool board believe Tchouameni will join Real Madrid barring any last minute change of heart. After the Mbappe deal collapsed, Real Madrid prioritized the midfielder’s signing. The 22-year-old is now a fixture in Deschamps France squad. And will want a guarantee on playing time ahead of the World Cup in 6 months time.”
With Aurelien Tchouameni clearly looking for gametime in his future club. It would be interesting to see if Casemiro or Fabinho would be willing to share game time with the youngster. Furthermore, it is clear that the winner of the UCLthis season will have the better chances of landing Tchouameni.
