AS Saint-Étienne has parted ways with manager Pascal Dupraz and technician Julien Sablé after failing to survive relegation

AS Saint-Étienne has parted ways with manager Pascal Dupraz after failing to survive relegation. The club will compete in Ligue 2 next season, after they failed to get past the playoffs.

The club announced this on their website: “Saint-Étienne informs of the end of the contract of Pascal Dupraz, appointed head coach on December 14th.

“Appointed after the 18th day of Ligue 1 Uber Eats when the Greens had only 12 points, Pascal Dupraz and his staff managed to breathe new life and gleaned 20 additional points to access the play-offs.

“If the outcome did not turn out to be positive, AS Saint-Étienne would however like to thank Pascal Dupraz and Baptiste Hamid, physical trainer, for their total investment and wish them a very good continuation.”

In yet another departure from the club the Saints have bid farewell to technician Julien Sablé. The club stated: “It’s a page that turns, Julien Sablé leaves the green house. At the end of the contract, he will open a new chapter in his career. This will forever remain deeply marked by AS Saint-Étienne. Barely 14 years old, he took his first steps in the stands of the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium. It’s love at first sight. The young man from Marseille decides to join ASSE. It will do better than a simple passage.“

Julien Sablé upon leaving the club said: “It’s time for me to leave ASSE to take up new challenges. I would like to thank the club, all the employees and the supporters. Without whom I would not be the coach I have become. I am leaving leaving the club in good hands. I will enjoy supporting the Greens, hoping to see them quickly regain their place at the top of French football.”
